These activities include supervisory and management responsibilities for internal teams and project resources. This role is a senior-level customer-facing consulting position responsible for project success and business growth. As a seasoned project manager, this role will be assigned to Apex projects that may be highly complex, large, highly visible and/or otherwise require advanced project and people management skills, advanced financial and risk management skills and Consulting proficiency. \n\nReporting to a Capability aligned Delivery - Practice Director, this position is highly collaborative, as Apex Engagements require participation and collaboration from a variety of different roles within Apex and the client, and Delivery - Lead Consultant must be able to successfully navigate these relational and operational complexities. The Lead Consultant role involves client relationship building, executive level communications, presentations, reviewing and monitoring quality of client deliverables, supervising project teams, and scoping and estimating new projects. In addition to directly supervising delivery Practice employees, this role also leverages their skills and experience to contribute towards developing, mentoring and supporting the growth of other entry level through midcareer professionals within the Delivery Practice.\n\nProject Delivery & Oversight\n\n\tLead the client and Apex through the Project Kick-off (Launch) process and EDRM review. Ensure quality and accuracy of project workflows and operating procedures related to all aspects of the project including monitoring and tracking. Coordinate stakeholders to ensure team members take ownership of the relevant tasks and expectations.\n\tManage the day-to-day project delivery and Project Team resources from origination to completion. Accountable for staffing planning, selection, hiring, project onboarding, performance management, general employee relations, corrective action, and offboarding in close collaboration with Talent Strategy, Account Leadership, IPCs, and Delivery - Analysts. \n\tManage client expectations and related client communications, usually in conjunction with internal client leadership team. Provide detailed tracking of Tasks and Deliverables associated with assigned projects. Complete and submit project deliverables and milestones and obtain client acceptance, ensuring quality and timeliness.\n\tProvide status reports of work on all active projects. Manage scope and financials for project(s) as well as assisting in keeping the project on track for time, budget, and deliverables.\n\tAssess, analyze, and resolve complex project issues, problems and/or challenges.\n\tSchedule and facilitate Internal Business Reviews and internal cadences with stakeholders and collaborate effectively to manage quality of delivery.\n\tEstablish and lead project cadences with the client including reviews of project status, deliverables, overall project heath, issues, and risks, etc. Schedule and facilitate client business reviews.\n\tAt project closing, schedule and facilitate internal and external retrospectives and other closing items, tasks, or objectives at project end.\n\tDevelop and sustain trusted advisor relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position may require occasional travel to client, project, or internal stakeholder locations.\n\n\nProject Financial Management\nIn collaboration with Project Control, the Delivery - Lead Consultant is responsible for:\n\n\n\tMonitor financial health of the project and ensure that the approved financial targets are achieved.\n\tMonitor and update pricing sheets as necessary through collaboration with Project Accounting. \n\tOversee time charges, expenses, and billings on assigned projects; time and expense reporting and tracking against budgets.\n\tMonitor AR Aging report and resolve or escalate issues as needed. \n\tEnsure project expenses are submitted timely and correctly as needed.\n\tCommunicate Work-At-Risk requests and updates.\n\tResponsible (either directly or indirectly) for VMS management (milestones, invoicing, financial reconciliation, managing client system hours and monitoring the EPC to ensure budget and contract limits are up to date).\n\tVerify with internal billing team that all invoices have been submitted and paid upon project closing.\n\tDevelop and prepare a variety of reports related to the project delivery, project status, budget, forecast, contract employees, metrics and KPIs, etc.\n\n\nProject Risk Management\n\n\n\tMonitor Contract Compliance.\n\tManage change orders as needed including the CLM process and proactive and collaborative communication regarding status and execution.\n\tEnsure accuracy and completeness of engagement work papers.\n\tOwn and maintain project risk registers, ensuring timely identification, documentation, and escalation of risks across all phases of delivery.\n\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective risk mitigation and contingency plans. \n\tMonitor and report on risk status and trends, providing regular updates to stakeholders and Apex leadership. \n\tFacilitate risk review sessions and ensure alignment with organizational risk management frameworks and compliance standards.\n\n\nSales & Project Management Practice Support\n\n\n\tProvide sales and proposal leadership including participating in client advisory and scoping meetings, providing guidance on team structure, milestone and deliverable definitions, and proposal or Statement of Work development. \n\tProvide delivery practice leadership within the practice and in the broader organization with key internal stakeholders and audiences. Act as a consultant and advisor internally and externally in support of business growth and success.\n\tProvide leadership and mentorship to direct reports, supporting their professional growth in technical, solution, and framework expertise. Leverage internal and external resources to enhance skill and competence.\n\tContribute to the development of the Delivery Practice through a variety of activities and initiatives enhancing the business.\n\tOther duties as assigned.\n\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\n\n\n\tBachelor's degree with concentration in Business, Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience; MBA preferred. \n\t5 years of project or engagement management experience in Consulting or Professional Services (or similar); technology consulting experience preferred\n\tDemonstrated advanced people management skills and extensive experience successfully managing large teams and complex projects, including experience managing and coaching individual performance.\n\tExperience as a direct supervisor or manager of full-time internal employees highly preferred.\n\tDemonstrated advanced consulting skills, with the ability to provide strategic thought leadership and guidance to clients and account and sales teams regarding proposals and statements of work during engagement pursuits. \n\tExperience managing, setting priorities, solving complex problems, and selling in a consultative role.\n\tDemonstrated advanced level Project Management skills.
