The Cargo Handler will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving, sorting, and organizing freight while helping ensure cargo is handled safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Load and unload cargo from trucks, trailers, containers, and other transportation equipment Move freight to designated warehouse and staging areas Sort, organize, and prepare cargo for shipment or distribution Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for visible damage or discrepancies Verify labels, shipment information, and quantities when required Use pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment Secure and position cargo to help prevent damage during handling and transportation Maintain clean and organized loading docks, staging areas, and workspaces Follow company safety procedures and warehouse policies Work with team members to complete loading and unloading assignments on schedule Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labeled freight to a supervisor Qualifications Previous warehouse, freight handling, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience is preferred but not required Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift Ability to lift and move packages and freight safely Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to follow all workplace and equipment safety requirements
