Expand Champlain Housing Trust's (CHT) community reach, and curate meaningful program enhancements to ensure clients achieve their homeownership goals. This position will build an outreach campaign targeted at expanding CHT's presence in the community, assist clients through CHT's programs, tracking client turnover and outcomes, and track client satisfaction, providing meaningful analysis on client feedback that will better CHT homeownership programs. CHT is now the largest land trust in the country, owning or managing 2,500 apartments, stewarding over 712 shared equity homes and operating a loan fund that provides affordable home loans, farmworker housing loans and project management to services to low-income Vermonters. Our NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center (HOC) offers group education and one-on-one counseling for various types of housing needs, including financial capability, renting, buying a home and housing retention. CHT has been at the forefront of addressing unmet housing needs for decades. Our organization is committed to bridging the homeownership gap in Vermont with a focus on low-to-moderate income households, households of color and members of our community who find it difficult to buy. Full Time:
Requires 1720 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 47 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $31,000 (pre-tax), and an education award of $7,395 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Other benefits include health insurance, federal school loan forbearance, and various training and networking opportunities.
Member Duties :
- Provide information to community about financial education, shared equity homeownership, and special loan programs
- Oversee distribution and collection of education and homeowner client surveys, provide analysis of client feedback
- Coordinate focus groups to compile feedback into program recommendations
- Develop outreach initiatives with community partners
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, and groups (and plan and coordinate event details)
- Support clients to engage with programs and services
- Assist clients with applications
- Participate in an Independent Service Project, all VHCB AmeriCorps trainings/events/service days, and program initiatives
