ROLE:

Facilitators work with students and volunteers, guiding homework help, academic and enrichment activities, physical fitness activities and games, leadership training, snacks, and other activities as directed by the Site Coordinator. Facilitators participate in preparation and training with the commitment to learn and follow strategies as defined in the national Youth Program Quality Initiative (YPQI).

Schedule will vary based on program needs during the academic year and summer program. Training may be scheduled prior to the start of the school year and during school breaks as needed. Evening, weekend, and occasional out-of-town travel may be required based on program and organizational needs.

COMPENSATION

Expected Hiring Range :

Candidates hired for this position can expect a starting wage of $22.49 - $22.60 per hour . The final starting rate will be based on relevant qualifications and experience.

Full Position Wage Range:

The established wage range for this position is $22.05 - $26.05 per hour. This broader range reflects potential wage progression over time and is not the expected starting range for new hires. Eligible for paid leave and IRA retirement plan in accordance with organizational policy.

WORK LOCATION

The Club House program operates at multiple sites within the North Thurston School District. Primary work locations may include Chinook Middle School, Lydia Hawk Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, and other designated program sites. Staff may be assigned to a primary location but may also be required to support other program sites as needed. Reliable transportation to and from assigned work locations, including the

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide general supervision of students during program, including mealtime, homework, enrichment, recreation, and transitions. Plan and facilitate project-based academic and recreational activities in alignment with youth program quality guidelines with support from Site Coordinator. Assess students' needs and interests to design effective programming. Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly program trainings. Assist in developing students' cognitive capacity, increasing academic skill development and respect for learning, foster students' self-esteem and motivation through positive interaction. Provide direction and encouragement to volunteers and community partners. Use YPQI based methods of positive behavior management with guidance from Facilitators and Site Coordinator. Participate in youth program quality self-assessment, goal-setting, and other youth program quality meetings and tasks. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Experience At least two years of volunteer and/or professional experience working with young people. Licensure & Certifications Current First Aid and/or CPR certification, to be completed within 90 days of hire. Valid Driver's License Bilingual - Spanish/English (Preferred) Professional Competencies Basic organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a dynamic environment. Foundational written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with staff, partners, stakeholders, and program participants. Strong understanding of workplace professionalism and non-discrimination practices, including appropriate handling of sensitive or personnel-related matters and adherence to equitable workplace standards. Foundational professional conflict management skills, including the ability to navigate disagreements respectfully, maintain professionalism in high-stress situations, and escalate concerns appropriately when necessary. High level of independence and self-direction, with strong follow-through, accountability, and the ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications, with the ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and effectively utilize new systems and technologies.
