Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Special Programs Manager is a key player in the areas of community relations and participant engagement and retention. This individual delivers high quality, focused curriculum and outcome-driven engagement activities and resources while providing leadership, support, and guidance to mentors (Bigs), parents, and youth (Littles) to enhance their positive relationships and outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop, update and deliver a dedicated social-emotional learning (SEL)curriculum for elementary and middle school youth to participate in small group mentoring sessions. The focus of these sessions is to enhance skills in self-management, relationship building, responsible decision-making, internalizing behavior, externalizing behavior, coping mechanisms, and building resilience. Develop and recruit High School Bigs to engage high school age youth as mentors for elementary age youth. Develop, update, and deliver the Mentor U program and its resources to support students in graduating, exploring post-secondary education and workforce opportunities, and leaving high school with a clear plan for their future. Develop, update, and deliver the Big Futures program and its resources to support older youth, ages 18 to 24, maintain a relationship with their Big as they navigate one of the most pivotal times in their lives- the transition into young adulthood and develop skills in education, career exploration and readiness, housing and independent living skills, financial literacy, and self-care and management.
Pay:
$45,760.00- $52,000.
