Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, installation, and successful execution of commercial fire alarm and life safety system projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Manage fire alarm projects from kickoff through final completion Review project specifications, contracts, drawings, and scope requirements Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and labor forecasts Coordinate project activities with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams Monitor project progress and address issues impacting schedule or cost Work with the sales team to prepare and manage change orders, purchase orders, and project billing Design & Code Compliance Coordinate with engineering and design teams on system layouts and shop drawings Ensure compliance with: National Fire Protection Association standards Local AHJ requirements Applicable building and fire codes Review submittals and obtain required approvals Installation & Field Coordination Oversee field installation teams and subcontractors Conduct job site visits and progress meetings Coordinate system integration with other building systems Resolve field conflicts and technical issues Ensure installations meet approved drawings and specifications Testing & Commissioning Coordinate inspections, testing, and system commissioning Schedule acceptance testing with AHJs and customers Ensure deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner Obtain final approvals and project sign-offs Documentation & Reporting Maintain project documentation including: RFIs Submittals As-built drawings O&M manuals Test reports Provide regular project status updates to management and clients Manage project closeout documentation and turnover packages Safety & Leadership Promote and enforce workplace safety standards Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and site safety requirements Lead and mentor technicians and project staff Foster strong teamwork and accountability Qualifications 5-7+ years of fire alarm or low-voltage project management experience Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and life safety codes Experience managing commercial construction projects Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software NICET certification preferred Experience with major fire alarm platforms such as: Potter Silent Knight Fire-Lite Notifier Edwards Preferred Qualifications NICET Level II or higher certification Experience with integrated life safety systems Knowledge of scheduling software and construction management platforms Experience working directly with general contractors and AHJs Review project specifications, contracts, drawings, and scope requirements Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and labor forecasts Coordinate project activities with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams Monitor project progress and address issues impacting schedule or cost Work with the sales team to prepare and manage change orders, purchase orders, and project billing
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
