Project Operations Coordinator

Location:

El Segundo, CA (100% on-site)

Type:

Contract, W2, approximately 12 months (starting October 2026)

Pay:

$22.00/hour

About the Role

Our client, an organization in the chemicals and compressed gases industry, is seeking a Project Operations Coordinator to support daily logistics and inventory operations. You'll receive and verify inbound deliveries, label and store materials, pull and process customer orders, and handle return-to-vendor transactions, all while keeping inventory records accurate in the Warehouse Management System. Forklift experience is required; chemical handling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work safely and follow all applicable safety requirements

Receive and distribute materials and components into and out of inventory

Pick and stage materials following First Expired, First Out (FEFO) rules

Put away inbound orders and deliveries

Manage and process return-to-vendor (RMA) items

Maintain inventory records in Oracle

Communicate and coordinate issues; report inventory issues using established tools

Proactively identify efficiencies and help the team adopt new business tools and methods

Understand and follow proper spill and emergency cleanup procedures

Adhere to all processes and procedures, including proper labeling of materials

Operate powered industrial equipment

Interface directly with internal and external customers

Support waste reduction and recycling programs

Provide backup support to the distribution department

Perform dip-tube exchanges in a clean environment

Maintain and participate in the site 5S program

Perform other tasks as needs arise

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

1+ years of experience in the chemicals or compressed gases field

Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain one within 3 months

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to analyze processes and find new approaches

Excellent organizational skills and dedication to quality and accuracy

Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, plus Google Sheets and Docs

Ability to use system reports to manage inventory

Familiarity with Oracle Applications and site inventory tracking systems

Ability to serve as an Emergency Response Team member

Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to obtain Forklift, RCRA, DOT, and Hazmat certifications without restrictions

Chemical background or equivalent knowledge
