Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Project Manager to join an MEP client in Wilmington, CA. This role is responsible for managing HVAC, plumbing, and MEP service projects focused on service, maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and retrofit work for multifamily residential. Unlike a traditional construction Project Manager, this position will not focus on ground-up construction projects and will instead oversee existing building systems, equipment replacements, capital improvement projects, tenant-occupied property upgrades, and ongoing maintenance initiatives. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, property management groups, field supervisors, technicians, and vendors while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and with a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience managing retrofit and service-related MEP projects, including coordinating labor, materials, subcontractors, scheduling, budgeting, and customer communication throughout the project lifecycle. This position is fully onsite and requires working from Wilmington, CA office five days per week.   • 3+ years of Project Management experience within the MEP, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or facilities services industry.
  • Experience managing service, maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, retrofit, or equipment replacement projects.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and MEP building systems.
  • Experience working with existing building systems rather than solely new construction environments.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, labor planning, procurement, and customer communication.
  • Ability to coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and customers across multiple active projects.
  • Experience supporting multifamily residential properties, apartment communities, mixed-use developments, senior living facilities, or similar environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software. Ability to work onsite in Wilmington, CA five days per week.
  • Multifamily residential service experience.
  • Experience managing HVAC equipment replacements, boiler replacements, water heater upgrades, piping retrofits, pump replacements, or building system modernization projects.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and related service projects.
  • Experience with occupied residential communities and tenant-facing projects.
  • Commercial property service experience including office, hospitality, healthcare, or mixed-use facilities.
  • Previous experience working for an MEP contractor, mechanical contractor, plumbing contractor, facilities services provider, or property services organization.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs, service contracts, and recurring maintenance operations.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent service projects and technician teams.
PMP certification or construction/project management certifications.
