About the Role Project Support Services is seeking an experienced Asset Move Project Manager II to support furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) and relocation activities for new construction, renovation, and swing-space projects throughout the Los Angeles Community College District. This position will manage the complete FF&E and relocation process—from programming, budgeting, specification, and procurement coordination through delivery, installation, move-in, punch-list completion, and project closeout. The successful candidate will collaborate with college leadership, architects, construction teams, vendors, building users, and technology personnel to ensure spaces are fully equipped and ready for occupancy. The position may support multiple LACCD locations throughout the Cityside and Valleyside regions. Key Responsibilities Manage FF&E and relocation activities for new construction, renovation, and swing-space projects. Oversee FF&E programming, budgeting, specifications, purchasing coordination, scheduling, installation, punch-list activities, and closeout. Develop relocation scopes of work and coordinate bidding, bid analysis, budgeting, moving logistics, on-site oversight, and post-move activities. Collaborate with College Project Directors, architects, project managers, contractors, vendors, campus representatives, and Building User Groups. Coordinate with procurement personnel to purchase FF&E through best-value and public low-bid contracting processes. Establish and maintain project-specific FF&E and move budgets, providing budget validation at key milestones. Review architectural, furniture, design, and construction documents to confirm that FF&E requirements are properly coordinated. Verify electrical, data, infrastructure, utility, anchoring, and equipment-installation requirements. Evaluate existing furniture and equipment for relocation, reuse, storage, surplus, or disposal. Identify swing-space requirements and coordinate the preparation and availability of temporary spaces. Coordinate IT equipment requirements, locations, procurement, and installation with the Technology Project Manager. Monitor FF&E and relocation schedules to ensure timely delivery, installation, occupancy, and transition. Support value-engineering efforts to maintain established project budgets. Procure and coordinate specialty contractors, installers, movers, and other service providers. Coordinate delivery access, paths of travel, parking, security access, asset tagging, and the disposition of surplus property. Maintain complete records of proposals, purchase orders, packing slips, shipping documents, freight bills, invoices, timecards, and related documentation. Coordinate FF&E key transfers and keying plans with campus facilities personnel. Attend project meetings and prepare progress reports, budget updates, schedule information, and other requested documentation. Complete FF&E and relocation closeout activities and confirm that spaces are functional and ready for occupancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following experience and education combinations: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, Project Management, Planning, Facilities Management, or a related field, plus 7-10 years of relevant project management and coordination experience ; or Without a four-year degree, 11-14 years of relevant professional experience . Relevant experience must be in one or more of the following areas: Move or relocation management Project management Interior design Facilities management FF&E coordination, specification, or procurement Candidates must also possess: Ability to read and interpret architectural and furniture drawings. Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational, coordination, and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam. Flexibility to work at LACCD colleges and project sites throughout the Los Angeles area. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting educational facilities or public works projects. Experience with FF&E sourcing, public procurement, or asset management. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Proficiency in Microsoft Visio or other design software. Certified Interior Designer (CID) or NCIDQ certification. Membership or credentials through IIDA, AIA, IFMA, or LEED. Experience coordinating occupied-campus relocations, swing spaces, and phased move-in activities. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a highly organized project manager who understands how construction, interior design, procurement, technology, logistics, and campus operations come together during a relocation. This individual can manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines while maintaining accurate budgets, schedules, procurement records, and closeout documentation. Pay:
$155,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
