Job Description

- transform their ideas into reality.
- Execute Applied Materials' Tool Installations & Upgrades to achieve key business objectives through reduced project cycle time.
- Responsible to safely design, plan, execute, construct, start-up, and commission advanced semiconductor R D lab facilities upgrades and tool installations in Silicon Valley.
- Oversee a team of facility PM's in the preparation and management of project plans, scope, schedule, and budget through all phases of design, contracting, construction, start-up and commissioning.
- Order long lead equipment & materials and review & approve engineering submittals with stakeholders.
- Serve as a leader with whom multiple Applied Materials business units collaborate to develop strategies that align with key business objectives.
- Ability to respond to changing corporate business environments. Adjusting plans as needed.
- Designs, develops and implements organizational policies and procedures relevant to the facilities department.
- Collaborate with planning department peers for optimal solutions and transition into project execution within the group.
- Develop and secure support for project Capital approvals.
- Develop and track key performance metrics that align with both Tool Hook-up, Infrastructure Team and Business Unit objectives.
- Coordinate with internal business partners, architecture/engineering firms, Facilities Operations, and EH&S in developing, reviewing and approving design criteria, layouts and detail drawings.
- Ensures function processes result in strict compliance to permitting requirements and building codes.
- Schedule building inspections and obtain inspection approvals.
- Manage/direct construction for RFI's, project scope of works, bid comparisons, work plan generations, conditional use, and full use approvals.
- Develop a global platform from which all R D Tool Hook-up teams globally can leverage, including methods and process, resources and expertise, contracting methodologies and performance improvement.
- Manage construction contractors and ensure that they follow safe work practices and work to resolve safety or constructability issues.
Following:
- 7+ years' experience in the semiconductor, Thin Films, or similar industry.
- Experience with highly technical facility planning, design, and build.
- Proven success managing the installations of semiconductor tools into R D facilities.
- Prior management experience
- Strong management presence with ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Passion to challenge the status quo in pursuit of material performance improvements.
- Experience selecting, developing and managing tool hook-up related service providers.
- Experience leading project management teams or equivalent.
- Bachelor Degree or higher in an Engineering discipline
- Strong computer skills with moderate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint abilities.
- Ability to analyze data for efficiency improvements and achieve reduced project cycle times.

- Ability to partner effectively with demanding and highly technical business unit tool owners, EHS professionals, and lab managers.
- Ability to manage in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple groups.
- Ability to make improvements to existing business process and manage supplier base for optimal performance.
