Job Description
7 Summits Construction, LLC | Hartford, CT 7 Summits Construction is a growing construction firm specializing in Construction Management (CM), Construction Manager at Risk (CMR), General Contracting, Owner's Project Management (OPM), and Program Management. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) with approximately 3-5 years of construction/project management experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. This position is more than a project support role. Our APMs are expected to take ownership of meaningful portions of projects, solve problems, work directly with project teams and clients, and become increasingly accountable for project outcomes. For the right candidate, this role provides a clear opportunity to develop the experience, judgment, and leadership skills needed to progress into a Project Manager position. What You'll Do Support Project Managers and Project Executives in managing projects from preconstruction through closeout. Take ownership of assigned project activities and drive issues through resolution. Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams. Manage and track RFIs, submittals, drawings, change documentation, meeting minutes, action items, and other project controls. Assist with project schedules, procurement, budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, owner billing, and subcontractor payments. Work closely with Superintendents to coordinate field activities and resolve construction and design issues. Participate in project meetings, site visits, client interactions, and increasingly lead assigned portions of the project. Support State of Connecticut and other public-sector projects, including required contract administration, documentation, workflows, and reporting. Assist with estimating, bid solicitation, scope reviews, preconstruction activities, and project closeout. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered. Approximately 3-5 years of construction/project management experience. Hands-on experience with Procore strongly preferred. Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for drawing review, markups, overlays, document comparison, and coordination. Experience with Trimble or other State of Connecticut construction/project management systems is a strong plus. State of Connecticut, DAS, or other public-sector construction experience is highly desirable. Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and project cost controls. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through. A willingness to take ownership, accept increasing responsibility, and be accountable for results. Build Toward Your Next Step We view the Assistant Project Manager position as an important step in the progression from project support to independent project leadership. At 7 Summits, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers, Project Executives, and Superintendents while taking on progressively greater responsibility. Our goal is to develop an APM who can own increasingly complex portions of a project, build strong client and contractor relationships, make sound project decisions, and ultimately advance into a Project Manager role. If you have built a strong foundation in construction project management and are ready for greater responsibility, ownership, and the opportunity to grow, we would like to hear from you.
