The Project Manager will be responsible for performing project management and manufacturing planning tasks for jobs and projects in a technical and dynamic aerospace environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Creates a work environment that is conducive to teamwork and strong professional development. Takes assigned projects from estimating stage through to completion, while providing budgeting and operational justifications, as well as performing manufacturing planning. Provides customer interface for Project Kickoff, Design Reviews, Manufacturability Discussions, Engineering Change Discussions, Equitable Adjustment, and other responsibilities as assigned. Perform project management responsibilities for assigned projects from estimating stage to completion. Performs initial and ongoing project reviews with internal/external customers. Develops manufacturing planning, including material takeoffs, project schedule, and coordinates with the machine shop and fabrication shop to schedule and plan work efficiently. Identifies process deficiencies and develops solutions to correct and/or improve, root cause, and process flow. Coordinates the lessons learned/project reflection process for each assigned project. Perform additional assignments and/or duties as assigned by manager. Customer Status support that may require contact (verbal, written, or both) as needed.
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum of 5-10 years of engineering or project management experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of metal machining, welding, metal finishing, fabrication, and general assembly experience. Ability to initiate/manage cross-functional teams. Possesses critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Ability to lead by influencing, negotiating, and delegating. Experience working in an AS9100 regulated environment. SolidWorks design and drawing experience. Microsoft Suite proficiency, including Project.
Preferred:
PMP Certification, or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted. Must be able to sit or stand up to 8 hours per day uninterrupted.
