As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a Permitting Technician to join our team and help ensure our generator installation projects move efficiently from sale to completion. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, coachable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment . This position plays an important role in coordinating with our Sales, Operations, Installation, and customers to ensure all necessary permitting requirements are completed accurately and on time. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates well, follows through on tasks, and is willing to learn the permitting requirements and processes associated with residential and commercial generator installations. Positions are available for immediate start. Key Responsibilities Review permitting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper data entry prior to submission. Prepare and submit permit applications and supporting documentation to the appropriate Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) . Navigate city, county, and other AHJ permitting portals to submit applications, monitor permit status, respond to requests, and retrieve approvals. Coordinate closely with the Sales Team to ensure customer information, project details, equipment specifications, site information, and other required documentation are accurate and aligned prior to submittal. Communicate with customers regarding permitting requirements, missing documentation, project timelines, and the status of their permit applications. Track submitted permits and proactively follow up on applications that are pending, delayed, rejected, or require additional information. Review comments, corrections, and requests from AHJs and coordinate with the appropriate internal team members to obtain and submit the required revisions. Maintain accurate and organized records of permit applications, approvals, correspondence, and project documentation. Monitor permitting timelines and identify potential delays before they impact installation schedules. Communicate permit updates and outstanding requirements to internal teams to keep projects moving forward. Assist with researching local permitting requirements, codes, forms, fees, and submission procedures as needed. Ensure all permit-related tasks are completed accurately and within established company timelines. Provide general administrative support related to permitting and project coordination as needed. What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be: Highly organized and detail-oriented Dependable and punctual Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously A strong written and verbal communicator Comfortable communicating professionally with customers, municipalities, inspectors, and internal team members Proficient with computers, email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and web-based portals A quick learner who is willing to become familiar with different city and county permitting processes Able to work independently while also being a strong team player Coachable and willing to take direction and learn Proactive about following up and resolving outstanding items Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company where priorities may change throughout the day Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in permitting, construction administration, project coordination, generator installation, electrical/HVAC permitting, municipal permitting, or a related field is preferred but not required. Experience working with AHJ websites and online permitting systems is a plus.
