Job Description

Job DescriptionDavid Weekley Homes is seeking to add an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to our Tampa Division. The Permit Coordinator supports the homebuilding process from plan approval to construction start by managing permits, coordinating with municipalities, and partnering with builders and trade partners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple permits and deadlines simultaneously. Experience in residential homebuilding and a solid understanding of the permitting process are strongly preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with builders, project managers, and municipal offices to keep homes moving through the permitting process and on schedule.

Manage multiple communities and homes at various stages.

Track high-volume permit activity.

Submit permit applications to various municipalities.

Communicate with municipalities to track approvals and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain organized permit files and documentation.

Monitor timelines to support timely home starts.

Support builders in obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy (CO) as needed and other issues as they arise while homes are in production.

QualificationsSelf-motivated and able to work both independently and as a member of a dynamic team.

Excellent communication and follow-up skills.

Construction or permitting experience preferred.

Strong follow-up and organization skills.

High attention to detail and ability to deal effectively with numerous interruptions.

Ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive, team-oriented mindset.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook with exposure to JD Edwards is beneficial.
