We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specialized in HVAC and MEP construction to lead complex mechanical projects from pre-construction through closeout.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, proven project management expertise, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage HVAC and MEP projects from bidding and pre-construction through commissioning and closeout, ensuring schedule, cost, quality, and safety targets are met.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and resource plans; monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate and oversee design reviews, change management, submittals, RFI responses, and value engineering efforts with engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
Manage procurement of materials and equipment, negotiate with vendors and subcontractors, and ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.
Supervise on-site construction activities, provide technical guidance for mechanical/HVAC installation, testing, balancing, and commissioning, and ensure adherence to contract documents and codes.
Lead and mentor project teams, including project engineers, superintendents, and field staff; foster a collaborative, safety-first culture.
Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact; provide regular project reporting, status updates, and issue resolution.
Implement and enforce quality assurance, safety, and compliance procedures; coordinate inspections and oversee commissioning and startup activities.
Identify and mitigate project risks; track and report on project KPIs and lessons learned for continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive project management experience in
HVAC/MEP
construction, with a track record of successfully delivering commercial or industrial projects.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, controls, and commissioning processes.
Proven project management skills including scheduling (MS Project or Primavera), budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, and construction site operations; familiarity with construction safety standards (OSHA) and building codes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and multidisciplinary teams.
Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, or PE (mechanical) are a plus.
