Compensation:

Job/Practice Description:

Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist Provides inpatient and telehealth antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum care Cares for patients throughout admission, from triage through delivery and postpartum Performs histories and physical exams on new and returning patients Manages acute and chronic illness per protocol or in collaboration with physician Provides telehealth triage for antepartum/postpartum acute issues Performs procedures such as contraceptive implant and IUD insertion/removal, with appropriate training Participates in interdisciplinary teams and ongoing quality improvement activities Maintains active hospital delivery privileges and an active collaborative practice agreement with a physician Precepts students and participates in faculty/university activities as indicated

Requirements:

MSN or DNP Basic rescuer CPR certification APRN-Certified Nurse Midwife license in Illinois Certification as a nurse midwife At least 2 years of CNM experience preferred Comfortable covering a busy L&D unit Medical Spanish proficiency preferred Location offers: Waukegan, Illinois, located along the shore of Lake Michigan in northeastern Illinois About 40 miles north of downtown Chicago, with easy access to the city Close to Illinois Beach State Park, offering miles of lakefront trails and beaches Convenient access to both Chicago and Milwaukee metro areas
