Project Duration:
Long-term assignment, anticipated through at least late 2027
Schedule:
6 days per week, 10 hours per day (6x10s)
Overtime:
1.5x after 40 hours
Per Diem:
$193/day, 7 days per week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support a long-term power generation project serving a large data center development in Bowling Green, Ohio.
This position will work closely with field construction and project management teams to track construction progress against the project schedule, monitor key milestones, identify potential delays, and provide accurate schedule and progress reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong Primavera P6 experience and a background supporting power generation, energy, industrial, or other large-scale construction projects. This is a field-focused Project Controls position requiring someone who understands how actual construction progress translates into schedule updates and overall project performance.
Responsibilities
- Track daily and weekly field construction progress against the project schedule and established milestones.
- Maintain, update, and analyze project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Work directly with Superintendents, Construction Managers, Project Managers, and other field personnel to gather accurate progress information.
- Monitor planned versus actual construction progress and identify schedule variances, delays, and potential impacts to upcoming milestones.
- Update activity status, percent complete, durations, sequencing, and forecasted completion dates based on field conditions.
- Assist with development and maintenance of look-ahead schedules and milestone tracking.
- Analyze critical and near-critical activities and communicate potential schedule risks to project leadership.
- Support schedule forecasting and provide visibility into upcoming activities and potential constraints.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, and other project controls reporting.
- Participate in construction progress and scheduling meetings with project leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and other project controls functions as required.
- Help ensure field execution remains aligned with the overall project schedule and key completion milestones.
Qualifications - Previous Project Controls, Scheduling, or Planning experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Experience tracking actual field construction progress and incorporating progress into project schedules.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, schedule logic, milestones, critical path, and look-ahead planning.
- Ability to work directly with field teams to validate progress and identify schedule impacts.
- Power generation, data center, utility, energy, EPC, or heavy industrial construction experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with project reporting, forecasting, and schedule analysis.
- Cost controls experience is beneficial but is not the primary focus of this position.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced field construction environment.
- Must be comfortable working a 6x10 schedule in Bowling Green, OH.
