Role Description The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New Orleans, LA, supporting the planning and execution of commercial flooring and surface projects. This role assists Project Managers with coordinating schedules, materials, and labor, and helps ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Day-to-day responsibilities include tracking project progress, updating documentation, communicating with clients, vendors, and field crews, and resolving routine issues as they arise. The Assistant Project Manager also helps review specifications, attend site visits and meetings, and support quality control efforts to maintain SSI's standards. This position works closely with operations and field teams to provide reliable support and contribute to efficient project delivery. Qualifications Candidates should possess project support skills such as basic project planning, scheduling, and task coordination. Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and field teams. Candidates should possess organizational and documentation skills, including attention to detail, record-keeping, and proficiency with project documents and reports. Candidates should possess basic technical and construction awareness, such as familiarity with commercial construction or flooring environments and the ability to read or learn plans and specifications. Candidates should possess foundational computer skills, including comfort with email, spreadsheets, and project management or office software. Relevant experience in construction, flooring, or related trades, whether in project coordination or field roles, is beneficial. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education in construction management, business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work on-site in New Orleans, LA, maintain reliability in attendance, and support a safety-focused workplace is expected.
