The ideal candidate will bring strong architectural experience, project leadership skills, and a passion for thoughtful design. You will be responsible for helping guide projects from concept through completion while maintaining a high-level of design quality, technical coordination, communication, and client service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead architectural projects through all phases of design and construction Serve as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work Lead client, consultant, and project team meetings and presentations Coordinate architectural work with structural, MEP, civil, landscape and other consultants Oversee the development of construction documents, specifications, and details Review drawings and documents for design quality, technical accuracy, and coordination Assist with permitting, bidding, and public or private procurement processes Participate in construction administration, including site observations, RFIs, submittals, and change orders Collaborate with principals and senior staff on project strategy, design direction, and client relationships Mentor and support junior architects and designers Contribute to the continued development of Vance Stein's design and project management processes
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
10-15+ years of professional architectural experience Registered Architect (RA) preferred Demonstrated experience leading projects through all phases of design and construction Experience with educational, institutional, municipal, commercial, hospitality, residential, or other complex building projects Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, construction methods, materials, and detailing Experience with construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
