Job Description

Job Overview Wright Builders is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager. In this role, you will work directly alongside experienced Project Managers and Field Superintendents to support commercial construction projects from beginning of construction through closeout. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive communicator who is eager to learn the technical and financial processes driving successful construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Project Administration:
Assist with management of construction project documentation, including reviewing plans and specifications, tracking, and distributing Requests for Information, Submittals, Change Orders, and Shop Drawings.
Collaboration & Communication:
Coordinate with owners, architects, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure clear alignment with proposed construction, distribute documentation to appropriate parties throughout the project.
Meeting Management:
Create agendas, attend weekly meetings, coordinate project progress documents, and accurately record and distribute meeting minutes.
Scheduling & Procurement:
Assist in monitoring project schedules to flag potential delays or captures, track material procurement and subcontractor progress to ensure on-time delivery with proposed project schedules.
Financial Management:
Support budget administration by creating purchase orders and subcontractor agreements in alignment with project budgets. Review project financials to create and maintain subcontract and purchase logs. Coordination of scope changes to the project and tracking budget and time changes. Issue change orders and export for signatures.
Compliance Support:
Become a presence in the field, to verify progress, assist with safety reporting, and help to ensure compliance with building codes and the project's health and safety plans. Skills & Experience Bachelor's or Associate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field. 1-3 years of experience in construction management or project engineering (general contractor or architecture background preferred). Construction Documentation proficiency. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite is required. Strong spatial and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple tasks at varying stages of completeness and following project origination processes. Willingness to speak up if something is in question. Ability to navigate unexpected challenges and find practical solutions; critical thinking; process improvement. Demonstrate objectivity, neutrality, and professionalism. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and convey those instructions to others. Strong organizational skills and follow-through. Ability to prioritize projects and tasks. Ability to work productively and independently. Ability to manage time with consistent weekly deadlines for reporting and other time-sensitive assignments. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and meeting notes. Clear and effective communication skills (emails, phone calls, in-person, etc.) Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including percentages, ratios, and spreadsheet formulas. Fluency in English Reliable transportation and valid Driver's License. Physical Requirements Able to work in fluctuating weather conditions including cold, rain, and heat. Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. of materials. Ability to climb ladders up 25' in height. Regular, dependable attendance Preferred, but not required Experience with construction management software such as Procore, SAGE
CRE OSHA-10
certification is recommended. Will be required if not currently obtained. CSL preferred but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish, proficiency in Spanish Pay & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience starting at $55k. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
