Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Utility Scale Solar Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale solar energy projects. In this role, you will oversee all phases of project development, from permitting and design to construction and commissioning. Your leadership will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Duties Lead the coordination of project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management software to ensure timely delivery of all project milestones. Oversee construction management activities, including reviewing construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints for electrical systems and system design compliance. Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate communication among stakeholders including contractors, engineers, permitting agencies, and clients to ensure alignment on project scope and progress. Conduct thorough review of construction drawings and schematics to verify adherence to electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards. Oversee permitting phases by coordinating with local authorities to secure necessary approvals while ensuring NFPA 70 compliance during all construction activities. Monitor construction site activities for safety compliance, including NFPA 70 standards and other electrical safety protocols; manage site inspections and safety audits. Review contracts and manage project scope changes; oversee procurement processes using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools for accurate cost management. Lead team efforts in electrical blueprint reading, system design review, and troubleshooting during construction to ensure technical accuracy. Manage project documentation including ProCore, Bluebeam for drawing reviews and updates; maintain detailed records for all phases of construction. Coordinate construction schedule updates with subcontractors and vendors to maintain alignment with overall project timelines. Requirements Proven experience managing large-scale electrical or renewable energy projects with a focus on utility-scale solar development. Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical building codes such as NEC and NFPA 70 standards. Proficiency in project management software including Primavera P6, Prolog, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and scheduling tools like Construction Scheduling software. Experience with construction estimating using HeavyBid or similar tools; ability to develop accurate cost estimates and manage budgets effectively. Familiarity with permitting processes related to renewable energy projects; involvement in permitting phases from initial application through approval. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites; strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of construction site safety protocols aligned with NFPA 70 standards; ability to enforce safety practices on-site consistently. Electrical engineering background or equivalent experience in electrical project management is highly preferred. Ability to read complex electrical blueprints and schematics accurately; experience managing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects is a plus. Strong time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines; detail-oriented approach to project documentation and compliance.
