Job Description
JOB HOUSING & REVITALIZATION
DEPARTMENTProject Manager- Climate Resilience The City of Detroit Office of Sustainability is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the Climate Resilience and Adaptation Division.
This is a Temporary Administrative Special Services (TASS) position.
This Appointment Term is based on availability of grant funds. This is a grant-funded position. The continuation of this role depends on the availability of ongoing funding. Employment beyond the current grant period is not guaranteed and will be based on the renewal of funding.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Coordinate activities across city departments and key stakeholders to devise comprehensive plans that prioritize resiliency actions.Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Develop and coordinate relevant climate and health communications and engagements that share best practices and leverages collective expertise.
Proactively work in partnership with Office leadership to seek and secure grant funding.
Develop presentations and progress reports to update city leadership and stakeholders, providing accurate and transparent information.
Participate and lead as appropriate at local, regional resilience and adaptation committees, working groups and other opportunities.
Prepare reports, monitor project performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.

This is a Full Time, 2 Year, Grant- Funded position

Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated through the ability to build effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Experience working with Detroit residents and community groups.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience in group facilitation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
Experience managing interagency collaborations and navigating bureaucratic processes.
Self-starter, with a strong work ethic, who is flexible and open to change and able to work in a group or independently.
Ideal candidate will have a baseline understanding of Climate change impacts and some experience working in the environmental sector.
