Job Description
Overview:
Wildlife and Wetlands Solutions is a northern Michigan-based land management company specializing in invasive species control, forestry support services, hazardous fuels reduction, and habitat restoration. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support bidding, contracting, mapping, permitting, reporting, and day-to-day project coordination. This is a permanent, full-time salaried position that typically requires 40-50 hours per week and includes the benefits outlined below.Typical Responsibilities:
As a Project Coordinator for WWS, you will support a range of administrative, operational, and field-coordination tasks that help each project run smoothly from bid development through final reporting.You will be responsible for:
- Identifying and sourcing project bid opportunities.
- Completing and submitting all quoting and bidding documents.
- Managing contracting documents and ensuring compliance with required insurance policies.
- Applying for required permits and completing related project reporting.
- Mapping and providing all GPS and GIS assistance to crew members and supervisors.
- Organizing project information and crew accommodations.
- Ordering materials and other necessary supplies.
- Coordinating project timelines and related correspondence with clients, partners, agencies, and other project stakeholders.
- Preparing final reporting data, maps, notifications, and project summaries for clients, agencies, and other required recipients.
- Answering and managing the company phone.
- Supporting additional duties as needed, including attending partner meetings and assisting field crews when necessary. Task Breakdown (approximate; percentages may vary by season and project workload):
- 25%: Finding and filling out bids/quotes
- 65%: Project coordination, mapping, and reporting
- 10%: Communications and miscellaneous tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in natural resources, administration, or another applicable field
- Experience with GIS software, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, OnX, and Google Maps
- 2 years of experience in the natural resources or administration field
- Experience with Google and Microsoft Suites
- Michigan Pesticide Applicator license or ability to obtain one
- Sufficient understanding of conservation practices
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in natural resources, administration, or another applicable field
- Experience with government contracting
- Sufficient understanding of native and invasive plants in our service area, habitat restoration, and conservation practices.
- Experience with EGLE and county SESC permitting processes Compensation
- Starting salary range $45,000 - $55,000 depending on experience
- Company health insurance, including dental and vision after 90 days
- Two weeks of vacation (after 90 days) and major holidays off
