This role provides technical leadership to BIM team members while ensuring models, drawings, and project documentation meet company standards, project specifications, and contractual requirements. The BIM Coordinator collaborates closely with project teams, field personnel, and project stakeholders to deliver coordinated, high-quality models that support efficient project execution. Key Responsibilities BIM Leadership & Project Coordination Lead a team of BIM Modelers in the creation of project documentation, providing feedback and markups as necessary to achieve project objectives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced BIM team members. Effectively communicate with team members, project stakeholders, and project leadership. Provide detailed input into task assignments and project tracking. Maintain accountability through task management and tracking. Provide detailed feedback to BIM Manager regarding the strengths and opportunities for improvement of team members under your leadership. Able to provide forecasting on assigned work with oversight from the BIM Manager and complete work within estimated hours. Work with the assigned BIM Manager on EIA and TIA documentation for tracking project change orders. BIM Modeling & Technical Responsibilities Complete comprehension, navigation, and utilization of design, construction, and submittal documentation. Understand project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and ensure modeling efforts meet contractual requirements. Work within established company BIM standards and project workflows. Model electrical components and content to accurate dimensions, orientation, and elevation. Create assembly documentation from the model as required to meet detailed manufacturing requirements. Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D installation documentation. Accurately locate and place Autodesk Point Layout (APL) points within the model and export data files required for field implementation. Manage the project file-sharing process. Adhere to BIM Execution Plans and BIM project workflow criteria. Quality Assurance & Model Coordination Model and maintain a clash-free environment while holding the VDC team accountable for maintaining coordinated models. Run clash detection and hold the design team accountable for model updates. Ensure models meet company quality standards and project requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Support continuous improvement of BIM coordination and modeling practices. Qualifications Over four (4) years of trade and leadership experience or five (5) to seven (7) years of BIM experience. Electrical and/or specialty systems field experience required and/or job-related experience in 2D and 3D modeling.
