Essential Job Duties The Project Manager/Coordinator will primarily oversee the financial administration, compliance, and reporting requirements for a USDA Specialty Crops Research Initiative ( SCRI) grant. This role focuses heavily on fiscal oversight, data management, and curating the project's social media footprint.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, tracking, and approving project invoices and managing subcontracts
- Generating, monitoring, and analyzing grant budget and fiscal reports
- Coordinating, drafting, and organizing financial and narrative data for initial quarterly and comprehensive annual reports
- Utilizing the USDA's REEport system for official project reporting and data entry
- Maintaining organized, centralized project documentation, financial records, and program-related information to ensure grant compliance This is a temporary part-time position requiring 20-25/hrs per week. Is Time Limited No

Requirements and Preferences Work Schedule 20-25/hrs per week, flexible between Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Other Work/Responsibilities n/a Minimum Experience/Education Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in project coordination Department Required Skills Experience with financial management, data sharing protocols, and report preparation
Strong financial acumen with experience tracking budgets, reviewing invoices, and managing research data
Proven experience preparing professional projects, financial, or annual narrative reports
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain meticulous digital records and documentation
Proficiency with digital collaboration tools, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and secure data-sharing platforms Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Master's degree in a plant or plant related field
Prior experience managing grants, especially but not required experience with USDA NIFA or SCRI programs
Experience utilizing annual reporting software, experience with the USDA REEport / NRS system
Experience facilitating multi-institutional data sharing, including uploading and managing processed data on secured serve Required License or Certification Valid driver's license Valid NC Driver's License required? Yes
