$65,000 - $75,000 per year

HVAC / Construction Job Overview A growing HVAC and construction organization is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support both project operations and financial management functions. This position is ideal for someone with experience in project coordination, job costing, and construction accounting who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and accounting teams to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities Project Management Support Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and administrative tasks Track project schedules, budgets, change orders, and project documentation Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments Manage submittals, RFIs, permits, and closeout documentation Support material procurement and delivery schedules Maintain accurate project records and reporting Job Costing & Accounting Set up and maintain project budgets and job cost codes Monitor and reconcile project expenses, labor costs, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices Assist with monthly job cost reporting and project forecasting Support AIA billing, progress billings, and invoicing activities Partner with accounting teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitability tracking Review financial data and assist with budget management Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction environments Experience with project coordination and job cost accounting Strong understanding of construction budgets, job costing, and financial reporting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction management software Experience with Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar systems is preferred Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred Requirements Must have prior experience working in the HVAC or construction industry.
