The Project Manager coordinates multidisciplinary teams, manages timelines and deliverables, and ensures that projects align with organizational priorities such as quality improvement, regulatory compliance, performance optimization, and value-based care. The Project Manager serves as a liaison between clinical, administrative, and technical teams to ensure successful project execution and sustained results. Department Summary Working collaboratively across the system to support strategic initiatives and operational performance Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field. 3+ years of project management experience in a healthcare or hospital environment. Strong understanding of healthcare operations, terminology, workflows, and regulatory standards. Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Teams Planner, Smartsheet), and strong competency with Excel/PowerPoint. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Master's degree (MHA, MPH, MBA, MSN, or related).
Project management certification:
PMP, CAPM, or equivalent. Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or formal process improvement training. Experience working in a hospital system, ACO, CIN, or large medical group. Coordinate tasks, resources, and stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget project completion. Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, record decisions, and track action items to maintain momentum and transparency. Identify project risks, barriers, and mitigation strategies; escalate challenges as appropriate. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with clinical leaders, quality teams, physicians, nurses, IT, finance, population health, and patient access teams. Serve as the central point of communication between administrative and clinical stakeholders. Support change management efforts by engaging frontline staff and ensuring readiness for workflow changes. Process Improvement & Workflow Optimization Evaluate current-state processes and recommend improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA methodologies. Document workflows and develop standardized procedures that support efficiency, safety, and compliance. Monitor the impact of implemented improvements and promote sustainment strategies. Data Monitoring & Reporting Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project goals (quality, throughput, patient access, compliance, financial outcomes). Prepare project dashboards, progress reports, and executive-level summaries. Interpret data to provide recommendations that support decision-making and strategic planning. Regulatory & Compliance Support Assist in projects tied to accreditation (e.g., Joint Commission), CMS requirements, and state/federal healthcare regulations. Coordinate with compliance and quality teams to ensure regulatory alignment for project work. Operational & Strategic Support Support organizational initiatives that may include: Valuebased care and population health strategies Clinical quality improvement programs Patient flow optimization IT/EMR enhancements and implementations Budget planning and resource analysis Governmental/Regulatory initiatives Participate in planning cycles and contribute to longterm operational and strategic roadmaps. Other duties as assigned Working Conditions 8:00am - 5:00pm M-F or hours as required by the job. Occasional weekends and off -shifts. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. Occasional local/regional travel to/from physician offices.
