Full-Time Overview A leading global provider of energy, automation, and infrastructure solutions is seeking a Project Development Manager to support the development of performance-based energy and infrastructure projects. This role partners closely with clients, sales, and internal technical teams to define project strategy, develop scope, and drive execution plans that align with customer operational goals. This individual will play a key role in shaping projects from early development through contract execution, ensuring both technical and financial viability. Key Responsibilities Project Development & Strategy Lead development of small to mid-sized performance contracting projects Define project scope, strategy, budget, and schedule aligned with client goals Support energy savings calculations and validate financial projections Identify risks and ensure project feasibility within budget constraints Prepare technical documentation, reports, and final project financials Client & Stakeholder Management Partner with clients to understand operational needs, mission, and long-term goals Present technical solutions and project strategies to stakeholders Build strong client relationships through technical leadership and delivery excellence Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle Technical Leadership Provide guidance on scope development, engineering coordination, and project execution Review estimates, project deliverables, and contract documentation Coordinate internal and external teams including design professionals and subcontractors Support development and negotiation of design and construction agreements Project Management Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets during development phase Coordinate site audits, facility assessments, and data collection efforts Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to leadership Identify issues, manage risks, and drive resolution through project completion Safety & Compliance Establish and communicate project safety strategies Ensure adherence to safety standards, audits, and risk assessments Maintain compliance with client and internal safety requirements Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with sales, construction, and performance teams to align project goals Lead kickoff meetings, scope reviews, and project planning sessions Coordinate resources to meet development timelines and objectives Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) PE license (or ability to obtain) preferred PMP, CEM, or LEED accreditation a plus Experience 3-6+ years of experience in engineering, project management, or energy/infrastructure project development Experience with performance contracting, energy projects, or design-build environments preferred Familiarity with municipal, K-12, or higher education projects is a plus Core Skills Strong project management and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Financial acumen with experience reviewing budgets and projections Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment Knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and industry standards
Additional Details Travel:
~25%+ (project site visits required)
