Position Summary The Project Manager plays a central role in coordinating and executing high-end residential projects from concept through completion. Working closely with the firm's Partners, this position ensures that each project meets Cardello Architects' standards of design integrity, technical precision, and client experience. This role bridges creative design and disciplined project management. The Project Manager is responsible for translating the Principal's design vision into well-documented, coordinated, and buildable solutions. They will manage day-to-day project operations, maintain communication among clients, consultants, and contractors, and ensure that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The Project Manager also serves as a mentor within the studio, helping to guide junior staff, support consistency in documentation, and reinforce the collaborative, accountable culture of the firm. Design Coordination & Project Management Oversee all project phases from design development through construction administration. Translate conceptual design into coordinated, buildable documents that reflect the firm's aesthetic and technical standards. Manage and monitor project schedules, deliverables, and budgets using Monograph and other internal systems. Coordinate design efforts across the team, consultants, and contractors to maintain alignment with project goals. Actively participate in client meetings, consultant coordination, and project reviews. Anticipate and address design or construction challenges early to maintain momentum and quality. Technical Execution & Documentation Lead the production of design development and construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to firm standards. Perform quality control reviews and redlines throughout the documentation process. Use Morpholio and other digital tools for markups, sketching, and design coordination. Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material samples. Conduct site visits, issue field reports, and coordinate with contractors to resolve issues in real time. Mentorship & Collaboration Support and mentor junior and intermediate staff, offering guidance in both design and technical development. Foster a collaborative, accountable studio culture grounded in teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility. Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows, templates, and documentation standards. Client & Consultant Relations Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, consultants, and builders. Represent the firm's commitment to thoughtful design, responsiveness, and professionalism in every interaction. Manage client expectations and maintain positive, transparent communication throughout each phase of the project. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Minimum 8-12 years of professional experience, with a strong background in custom high-end residential architecture. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects through all stages of design and construction. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Competencies Revit proficiency required — must be comfortable leading production and coordination directly. AutoCAD proficiency required — ability to navigate legacy files, details, and coordinate across platforms. Familiarity with Monograph (for project management, scheduling, and time tracking). Experience with Morpholio (for sketching and markups) and Adobe Creative Suite (for presentation materials). Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, materials, and residential building systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Confident and diplomatic in interactions with high-net-worth clients, consultants, and builders. Mentorship experience and interest in supporting the growth of junior staff. Architectural licensure preferred but not required. Physical & Visual Requirements To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to: Remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer or drafting table. Move about the office and active job sites safely, including navigating stairs and uneven terrain. Use hands and fingers to operate computers, plotters, and other standard office equipment. Visually interpret architectural drawings, renderings, and technical documents with accuracy. Occasionally lift and transport drawings, materials, or equipment up to 25 pounds. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence. Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills with clients and project partners. Strong technical writing skills for project documentation, meeting notes, and field reports. Mental Demands & Reasoning Abilities Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and composure. Apply sound professional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Maintain awareness of overall design intent while managing detailed execution. Adapt quickly to evolving project conditions, feedback, and client needs. Work Environment This is a 100% in-person role, with remote work permitted only under exceptional circumstances (i.e., illness, inclement weather). Work is primarily performed in an open, collaborative studio setting conducive to teamwork and creative exchange. Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and consultant offices is required. Fieldwork may include exposure to construction noise, dust, weather variations, and typical on-site safety considerations.
