Job Description

Aformic is seeking a Project Manager to lead Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) projects from Sales handover through installation, deployment, and final customer acceptance. Reporting to the Director of Operations, North America, you will take ownership of project schedules, budgets, scope, and customer communication. You will work closely with engineering, software, production, logistics, and deployment teams to deliver projects successfully and maintain strong customer relationships. This role requires someone who stays organized, identifies problems early, and follows through on commitments. Key Responsibilities Project Planning and Delivery Lead project handover and kickoff meetings, confirming scope, deliverables, responsibilities, and customer requirements. Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, action lists, and resource plans. Coordinate internal teams and suppliers, track progress, and drive corrective actions when commitments are at risk. Customer Communication Serve as the primary customer contact for day-to-day project execution. Lead regular project meetings and provide clear updates on progress, decisions, and open actions. Manage customer expectations and communicate potential delays early, together with proposed recovery plans. Budget and Scope Management Track project budgets, expenditures, and profitability. Coordinate invoicing and payment milestones with Finance. Identify requests outside the approved scope, assess their impact, and coordinate change-order approvals before work proceeds. Deployment and Acceptance Coordinate customer site readiness, equipment delivery, deployment resources, and installation activities. Track commissioning, testing, customer training, and outstanding punch-list items. Ensure customer acceptance, documentation, and handover to Service are completed before project closeout. Risk Management and Reporting Maintain accurate project reports, risk registers, and records of decisions. Identify technical, resource, schedule, and commercial risks early. Escalate issues with a clear assessment of the impact, recommended actions, responsible owners, and recovery dates. Capture lessons learned and support improvements to project delivery processes. Qualifications Experience managing projects in industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing, material handling, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, and customer relationships. Experience coordinating teams across multiple departments and managing competing priorities. Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand technical requirements and work effectively with engineering and deployment specialists. Proficiency with project scheduling, tracking, and reporting tools. Willingness to travel to customer sites as project needs require. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AMR/AGV systems or warehouse automation. An engineering or related technical background. Familiarity with commissioning, acceptance testing, and industrial system integration. PMP certification or equivalent project management training
