Applications will be accepted until May 27, 2026. SUMMARY The First Congregational Church is the steward of a large and historic building in the heart of downtown Burlington. As a result of an extensive Visioning project, we are seeking to open our building for more accessible and wider community use. We have undertaken several capital projects to further these goals. For example, we are currently building a childcare facility for ONEArts to operate a 5-10 infant childcare program. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with staff and key leaders to organize, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of further capital goals. We have significant capital seed funding in hand and are in the process of undertaking a Capital Campaign. We also are seeking and utilizing grants for projects which are directly connected to the community at large. As part of the work, the Project Manager will help manage the budget and establish financial priorities to further our work in a sustainable way.TASKS:
Communication and Collaboration Coordinate with our lay leaders and staff to develop priority projects, taking into consideration timeline, necessity, and sustainability Assist with clarifying priorities for a capital campaign Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative environment Conduct regular meetings to facilitate communication, address challenges; provide regular updates and reports on project status, budget updates, significant developments or risks Coordinate with church staff and outside contractors to schedule and perform work in an always active building Direct project correspondence by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails Develop comprehensive project implementation plans, including objectives, scope, timelines, resource allocations and procurement strategies Construction Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of capital goals, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, implementation, and closeout In consultation with Executive Team, hire and coordinate contractors Monitor progress, review quality assurance, and evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions Keep all activities aligned with schedule Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored With church leadership, develop and manage budget, including outside funding, and compliance requirements Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses, timeliness, and implementing cost-saving measures Implementation Help establish rates and procedures for increasing our building usage. Operationalize projects once capital aspects are completedPREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Relevant professional certification in project management or construction management Budget and Cost Management Strategic Thinking Clear Communication and Collaborative Skills Field experience in construction OSHA training Computer literacyPay:
