As a leading provider of restaurant equipment, we have built a reputation for delivering quality products and services to our clients. We seek an experienced and organized Restaurant Equipment Project Manager to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant equipment projects from layout development planning, quoting and organizing to execution and completion. This role requires an individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that all installations are completed on time, within budget, and to our high standards. Ability to travel out of state to coordinate installation and verify plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage restaurant equipment projects from contract award through final completion. Review proposals, quotes, equipment schedules, specifications, drawings, purchase orders, and customer requirements. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules/timelines and critical milestones. Monitor project progress and proactively address potential delays or problems. Maintain accurate project files, correspondence, schedules, and documentation. Provide regular project updates to customers, sales, management, and internal departments. Equipment procurement including pricing, quantities, accessories, finishes, dimensions, lead times/delivery dates, substitutions and resolve any issues. Project cost and margin management against the approved budget while maintaining awareness of project gross margin throughout the project lifecycle. Customer management, serving as the primary project contact while providing regular updates on procurement, lead times, delivery, installation, and project status. Job-site coordination with general contractors, architects, designers, consultants, installers, and other trades. Delivery and installation coordination for equipment deliveries with the customer, job site, freight companies, warehouse, and installers. Project close out on every job to verify that all equipment has been delivered and installed, resolve outstanding vendor, installer, customer, and accounting issues and ensure final invoices and change orders are processed. Project risk management to identify and communicate problems early, and recommend solutions. Qualifications Minimum three years of experience in restaurant equipment, foodservice equipment, commercial construction, project management, or a related field. Strong knowledge of commercial restaurant and foodservice equipment. Experience working with equipment manufacturers, distributors, contractors, installers, and customers. Ability to read and understand kitchen equipment schedules, specifications, floor plans, elevations, and utility requirements. Strong understanding of restaurant construction and equipment installation. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and project-management or ERP systems. Ability to travel to customer and job-site locations as required. Preferred Qualifications Commercial kitchen equipment sales or project management. Restaurant construction or development. Multi-unit restaurant projects. Hotel, hospitality, institutional, or high-volume foodservice projects. Experience with equipment installation and commissioning. Experience with change orders and project cost control. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or construction-management software. Experience with restaurant tabletop, smallwares, furniture, or other foodservice product categories. PMP certification is a plus but not required.
