Position Summary We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Civil or Environmental Engineer with experience in solid waste engineering to join our team as a Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for developing and securing project work to grow the firm's solid waste presence and for managing a team of engineers and scientists to support the project work. This leadership position will contribute to the overall growth of the firm and can lead to firm ownership for the right individual. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals, and grow professionally. What You Will Do Help develop technical strategies and oversee production of technical work products. Have experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D as a design tool to: (i) prepare engineering drawings and related graphics; (ii) perform calculations; and (iii) integrate with other engineering software. Have experience using engineering software to prepare calculations supporting: (i) stormwater management, hydrology, and drainage designs; (ii) slope stability evaluations; (iii) and other design projects. Coordinate with project team members and clients. Interpret and analyze field and laboratory data. Oversee the preparation of technical reports, data tables, specifications, and other deliverables. Serve as an Engineer-of-Record. Manage projects both financially and technically. Manage and supervise staff engineers and scientists. Prepare proposals and project budgets. Secure and develop clientele and serve as primary client manager. What We Are Looking For Strong attention to detail with an understanding of solid waste permitting, design, and operations. Experience in landfill design/permitting, stormwater management, leachate and landfill gas management, geotechnical and groundwater engineering, geosynthetics, and associated construction. Knowledge of transfer station, recycling facility, and leachate treatment operations. Strong organizational, supervisory, mentoring, and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities. Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style. Required Qualifications Minimum of 10 years relevant experience (focus specifically related to solid waste) and a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or 8 years relevant experience (preferred focus specifically related to solid waste). An MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred. Possess Professional Engineering Licensure or the ability to secure such within 6 months. Valid Driver's License. Physical Requirements Requires sitting, walking and, at times, bending and prolonged standing. Must be able to visit project sites and climb ladders and stairs as required. The work requires both indoor and outdoor activity in temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme cold or hot and other weather conditions. Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment as required. Substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers is required. Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
