Job Description

This position reports to the Director, Facilities and Construction and is responsible for day-to-day oversight of construction projects, evaluating space and furniture requests and designing, drawing and maintaining facility plan documents. Bachelor's Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required. Three years of full time progressively responsible facilities and construction experience. Prefer Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) experience.
  • Working knowledge of or ability to learn Computer-Aided Design and Drafting technology/software such as
GIS, REVVIT, CAD, RS
Means, Project Management Software, IR/heat mapping, etc. to develop floor plans, update construction drawings, and develop minor construction plans.
  • Good customer service and written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively communicate to small and large audiences
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated and a team player
  • Able to comprehend and interpret oral and written instructions and documentation
  • Able to competently perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, independently and on time.
  • Strong analytical skills (planning), technical skills (construction methodologies, reading blueprints and drawings, technical specifications), and mathematical skills
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Coordinates and facilitates all facilities and construction planning meetings to include internal and external master planning meetings
  • Captures and documents job site progress for new construction/remodeling projects including photo/video documentation. Provides quality control per specifications to ensure project quality and safety standards are met.
  • Prepares and maintains construction or remodeling project cost/budget estimates including material, labor, furniture and equipment. Assists and makes recommendations for the departmental and capital budget.
  • Communicates project updates, problems and recommendations in a timely manner. Presents information to individuals or groups as needed.
  • Creates repairs and updates detailed campus and building maps and related drawings including furniture.
  • Maintains and organizes all project operation and maintenance manuals, plans, record drawings, CAD files/system/software. Makes mathematical calculations regarding field notes, land surveys, and square footage.
  • Continually assess current facility and construction conditions, and assist with the planning for and maintaining campus infrastructure and life cycle needs, correct deficiencies, and help develop long term capital plans and budgets.
  • Processes and approves space requests to include evaluating the space and feasibility of each request.
  • Processes and approves furniture requests. Maintains the CTC furniture catalog and is the principal point of contact for estimating and ordering furniture campus wide.
  • Fills in for the Director, Facilities and Construction in his/her absence and performs other job-related duties as required.
