You'll manage projects from award through closeout — including well pump stations, disinfection systems, and treatment/controls installations — working directly with municipal owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field crews to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. What You'll Manage Typical projects include construction of potable water well pump station facilities: discharge piping and appurtenances, pumps and motors, precast disinfection buildings (chlorination systems), sampling and chemical diffuser vaults, site electrical service and SCADA/controls integration, yard piping, grading, and paving. Work is coordinated closely with other prime contractors handling well drilling, elevated storage tanks, and adjacent utilities. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for owners (municipalities), engineers, and inspectors throughout construction Read and interpret civil, electrical, structural, and process plans and technical specifications (AWWA, TCEQ, and local municipal standards) Develop and maintain project schedules, sequence of construction, and manpower/equipment plans Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including scope coordination, submittals, shop drawings, and payment applications Prepare and track project budgets, change orders, RFIs, and pay applications Coordinate material procurement and long-lead equipment (pumps, motors, chemical feed skids, precast buildings, electrical gear) Ensure compliance with safety programs, OSHA requirements, and City/TCEQ inspection and testing requirements for public water systems Attend pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings; maintain accurate project records and as-built documentation Coordinate with other prime contractors and utility owners at shared sites (e.g., well drillers, storage tank contractors, electric utilities) Support bidding and estimating efforts on future municipal potable water projects as needed Qualifications 3+ years of project management experience in potable water or municipal water utility construction (well pump stations, disinfection/treatment facilities, or similar) Construction Science or Engineering Degree Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural construction drawings and technical specifications Familiarity with AWWA standards, TCEQ public water system requirements, and municipal bidding/contracting procedures (EJCDC-based contracts a plus) Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and budgets on public works projects Strong communication skills for coordinating with municipal owners, engineers, and inspectors Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites within the region OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered Benefits Retirement plan Health, vision, and dental insurance Paid holidays Paid sick days Vehicle allowance About inCon-trol Water Systems inCon-trol Water Systems specializes in the construction of potable water infrastructure for municipalities and public water systems.
