ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER - ROLE STANDARD
Sterling Creek Homes, Inc. Role Purpose The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in owning process, paper, and profit from contract execution through closeout. This is an entry-level role designed to build the operational, financial, and client-facing skills needed to grow into a full Project Manager position, working under the direct guidance and mentorship of an assigned Project Manager. Core Accountability The Assistant Project Manager is accountable for: Supporting budget tracking and documentation accuracy Assisting with schedule maintenance and execution follow-up Accurate documentation and systems compliance Supporting client communication and experience Assisting with revenue tracking and billing preparation 1. Financial Support Assist the Project Manager with job cost tracking and budget documentation Help prepare draw packages and pay applications for PM review Track and organize invoices, receipts, and cost backup Flag potential cost discrepancies or missing documentation to the PM 2. Scheduling & Planning Support Help build and update project schedules in Buildertrend under PM direction Support weekly planning coordination with the Superintendent Track milestone progress and flag schedule slippage to the PM Attend weekly planning meetings and document action items 3. RDX System Support (Required) Support the weekly operating rhythm:

Assist with lookahead review prep
Monday:
Attend PM/Superintendent 1-on-1
Tuesday:
Help compile invoice and forecast submissions
Wednesday:
Assist with RDX reporting Help maintain compliance with: Daily logs and photos Budget tracking updates Schedule updates Weekly reporting 4. Documentation & Contract Control Maintain Buildertrend accuracy for assigned items, including RFIs, submittals, POs, COs, and selections Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready Support change order policy compliance: Confirm no work proceeds without signed approval Ensure all costs are documented before submission for approval 5. Client Support Serve as a secondary point of contact for clients under PM guidance Support proactive, timely communication with clients Help coordinate with architects and consultants as directed Escalate client concerns promptly to the Project Manager 6. Superintendent Partnership Support the PM/Superintendent working relationship Attend weekly 1-on-1 meetings between PM and Superintendent Help remove administrative obstacles for field teams Learn the distinction between PM responsibilities (cost, schedule, communication) and Superintendent responsibilities (field execution, quality, safety) 7. Procurement & Buyout Support Assist with subcontractor buyout documentation and scope tracking Help track material procurement and lead-time items Confirm selections, submittals, and approvals are logged before execution 8. Field Support & Risk Awareness Participate in regular site visits alongside the PM or Superintendent Help monitor and document quality, schedule, and safety observations Report potential issues early to the Project Manager Track inspection scheduling and completion status 9. Closeout Support Assist with punch list tracking and follow-up Help reconcile change orders for PM review Support organized, complete project closeout documentation Contribute to client satisfaction through responsive follow-through Success Metrics An Assistant Project Manager is successful when: Assigned documentation and tracking tasks are accurate and on time Buildertrend records are clean, current, and reliable Schedule and budget updates are delivered to the PM without gaps Client and Superintendent communications are professional and timely Change order documentation is complete before submission The Assistant PM demonstrates growing readiness to take on full Project Manager responsibilities
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
