Role Description The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Woodbridge, VA and Charlotte, NC This position supports project managers in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial and residential HVAC projects from initiation through completion. Day-to-day responsibilities include tracking project schedules, assisting with procurement and expediting of equipment and materials, coordinating logistics with vendors and subcontractors, and monitoring project documentation. The role involves supporting inspection activities, ensuring compliance with company standards and local codes, and helping resolve on-site issues to keep projects on time and within budget. The Assistant Project Manager will also communicate regularly with clients, internal teams, and field technicians to maintain clear expectations and smooth project delivery. Qualifications Project coordination and project management skills, with the ability to support planning, scheduling, and execution of multiple HVAC projects. Expeditor and expediting skills to manage procurement timelines, follow up on orders, and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials. Inspection experience and attention to detail to assist in quality checks, site walkthroughs, and adherence to safety and compliance requirements. Logistics management capabilities to coordinate deliveries, manage inventory flows, and support efficient use of labor and resources. Strong organizational and documentation skills, including experience with project tracking tools, spreadsheets, and basic reporting. Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Ability to work on-site in Woodbridge, VA, including occasional visits to project locations in the Washington, DC area. Prior experience in construction, HVAC, mechanical services, or a related field is preferred. Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
