We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Project Manager to join our team in Bellingham, Washington.
Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing fabrication projects from award through delivery. This position coordinates with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and A1's internal estimating, detailing, purchasing, and production teams to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with contract requirements. The ideal candidate understands metal fabrication or commercial construction and can effectively manage multiple active projects, changing priorities, and firm deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage fabrication projects from award through completion. Review contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements. Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets. Coordinate submittals, approvals, material procurement, fabrication, and delivery. Communicate with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal production teams. Monitor project progress, costs, deadlines, and material requirements. Identify potential scheduling, scope, or budget issues and address them proactively. Manage change orders and document changes to project scope. Provide clear and timely project updates to customers and company leadership. Help resolve technical, production, and field-related issues. Ensure work complies with applicable safety, quality, and contract requirements. Maintain organized and accurate project documentation.
Qualifications:
At least two years of project management experience in metal fabrication, structural steel, industrial construction, or commercial construction. Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, construction methods, and commonly used metals. Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Proficiency with project management software and standard office applications. Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, shop personnel, and field teams.
Compensation:
Starting salary: $80,000 per year. The $80,000 starting salary applies to candidates who meet the position's minimum qualifications. Compensation will increase based on the candidate's relevant experience, fabrication knowledge, technical skills, and demonstrated ability to manage complex projects. Weekly pay.
