Job Description
Job Summary:
The Gym Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the gym during any youth league practices at the Bartlett Community Center, or at any of the local schools in Bartlett. This position includes monitoring the gym, ensure teams are at the correct location, ensure the gym is safe for play, raise and lower the basketball hoops to the proper height, only allowing the appropriate patrons in, communication with players, coaches and parents, handling potential issues that may arise, and problem solving as needed. This is an at-will position.Other duties and responsibilities include:
Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see they are adhered to at all times. Attend District-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed. Check the gym conditions to ensure it is safe to play in. Manage the gym throughout practices, handling questions/problems with teams, coaches, parents, and players, and making sure all are following the rules and regulations set by the Park District. This may include completing paperwork as needed. Interact with people in a professional and friendly manner. Answer all questions to the best of your knowledge. If you do not know the answer, direct them to contact the Recreation Manager at the Park District; or take their name and number and report back to the individual with the answer. Monitor the gym, gym hallway, bathroom facility, and any other immediate areas at all times. Provide basic first aid. Set-up and clean up the gym. This includes, but not limited to, adjusting basketball hoops to the proper height, putting up and taking down volleyball or pickleball nets, maintaining general cleanliness of the gym with occasional sweeping or wiping down surfaces, etc. Upon leaving, ensure gym is clean and doors are locked. If supervising at any of the schools: Let patrons in the building for their practices. Ensure exterior doors are closed and locked at all times. Ensure all users remain in the gym and use adjacent bathroom. Users are not permitted in any other areas. Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations. The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Should be mature and responsible and able to use initiative to problem solve. Should have an outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills. Must have a reliable form of transportation.Schedule & Pay:
This is a part-time, hourly position. Hours will vary. Hiring range is between $15.00 - $16.00/hour, DOQ.Benefits:
