Maintain a regular presence at both centers and offer direct peer support, resource connections, group facilitation, events, outreach, and practical assistance using peer-led, non-coercive approaches. Help create spaces grounded in warmth, respect, curiosity, choice, and shared responsibility; notice concerns early and work collaboratively to address them. Supervision of Hampden County Peer Advocates Provide regular, strengths-based supervision to Hampden County Peer Advocates, including scheduled individual supervision, clear expectations, timely feedback, follow-up on goals and concerns, and recognition of each person's contributions. Coordinate onboarding, core trainings, work assignments, schedules, and coverage in partnership with the Director of Community Supports, making sure Peer Advocates have the information and support needed to do their work. Support Peer Advocates in applying peer support, harm reduction, anti-oppression, and non-coercive practices. Address performance, conduct, or team concerns directly, privately, and with clarity about impact and expectations. Maintain necessary supervision documentation and participate with the Director of Community Supports in hiring, performance reviews, and corrective processes when needed. Food Pantry and Gym Access Oversee food pantry operations, including ordering and purchasing, donation coordination, pickup and delivery, inventory, storage, stocking, cleanliness, and equitable access. Maintain relationships with food-access partners and donors, track needs, and support practices that reflect food-safety expectations and avoid unnecessary barriers.
Manage the gym waiver process:
explain requirements, confirm that a current signed waiver is on file before use, maintain records securely, and coordinate updates as needed. Support shared expectations for safe gym use, monitor equipment and supplies, coordinate repairs or replacement, and follow up on incidents or concerns. Facilities, External Relationships, and Administration Serve as the day-to-day contact with property management for maintenance, access, inspections, repairs, pest concerns, and vendors at both centers. Track facilities issues to resolution; escalate urgent, unresolved, or higher-cost concerns to the Director; and communicate clearly when an issue affects center access or activities. Represent Wildflower Alliance with community organizations, neighborhood groups, donors, vendors, funders, and other external stakeholders. Support outreach, events, and shared projects; communicate accurately, follow through on commitments, and keep the Director informed of significant developments. Maintain calendars, schedules, purchasing records, waiver files, participation data, and other administrative records with appropriate attention to privacy; participate in team meetings, training, and planning. Requirements Investment in peer support, mutuality, self-determination, and alternatives to conventional clinical systems. Personal experience living through trauma, psychiatric diagnosis, homelessness, problems with substances, and/or other life-interrupting challenges, with the ability to draw on that experience thoughtfully in peer relationships. Understanding of and commitment to examining and undoing systemic oppression related to racism, gender, sexuality, disability, psychiatric diagnosis, class, substance use, and other forms of marginalization. Ability to provide consistent, strengths-based supervision, including clear expectations, direct feedback, documentation, and support through conflict or performance concerns. Ability to balance a variety of needs in active community spaces while remaining grounded, approachable, attentive to detail, and proactive about rising concerns. Ability to foster and participate in a community where people can speak up, offer ideas, challenge one another, and disagree while maintaining mutual respect and a collaborative spirit. Ability to communicate effectively with community members, Peer Advocates, property managers, vendors, and external stakeholders, and to complete routine digital and administrative tasks. A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle for work-related travel between Hampden County sites; some evening and/or weekend availability is required. Preferred Qualifications Established residence in Hampden County and familiarity with local resources. Experience supervising employees or leading a team, including schedules, onboarding, feedback, and support through challenging situations. Experience offering peer support and familiarity with peer support values and approaches. Bilingual and bicultural in English/Spanish or English/ASL. Also Helpful Familiarity with c/s/x, mad, peer, recovery, harm reduction, and/or human rights movements. Intentional Peer Support and/or other peer-to-peer trainings, such as Hearing Voices or Alternatives to Suicide.
