Collects fees or dues, responds to requests or complaints, supervises maintenance, oversees work done by contractors, and provides accounting of income and expenses. May also assist owners or a board of directors with regulatory compliance or compliance with community association rules. Manages the operation of commercial or residential properties. Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Job Description

The MJM Group, L.L.C. is seeking an experienced Contract Property Manager to oversee 10+ commercial locations throughout the Metro Detroit area. This role is responsible for conducting regular site visits, documenting property conditions, communicating with tenants, vendors, contractors, insurance companies and lenders; and ensuring each location is maintained to company standards. The ideal candidate will have strong property management experience, excellent communication skills, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple locations.
Who you are:
You are a professional, self-motivated Property Manager with experience overseeing multiple commercial, retail, or multi-site properties. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing relationships with tenants, vendors, insurance companies, lenders, contractors and internal business partners. You take pride in maintaining property standards and ensuring that concerns are documented, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner.
What you will bring:
Minimum of 5 years of property management experience. Experience managing multiple commercial, retail, or multi-site properties preferred. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the Metro Detroit area. Ability to visit each assigned location at least once per week. Strong written, verbal and communication skills. Professional experience working directly with tenants, vendors, contractors, insurance companies, lenders, contractors and service providers. Ability to assess property conditions and identify repair, maintenance, and safety concerns. Strong organizational, follow-up, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent reporting schedule. Strong computer skills and proficiency with iPad-based reporting tools; experience with iAuditor preferred.
What you will do:
Oversee 10+ commercial locations throughout Metro Detroit. Prepare and maintain budgets for all assigned properties. Conduct weekly site visits at each assigned location. Complete detailed monthly property condition reports using the iAuditor program on an iPad. Document the overall condition of each location, including maintenance needs, repair concerns, tenant, lender and insurance company feedback, vendor issues, and overall property appearance. Serve as a primary point of contact for tenants, vendors, contractors, and service providers. Communicate property-related concerns, repair needs, and follow-up items to the appropriate internal teams. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to support timely completion of repairs and maintenance. Track and follow up on outstanding property issues to ensure completion. Maintain professional and responsive communication with all tenants, vendors, and company representatives. Ensure assigned locations are consistently monitored, well maintained, and aligned with company expectations. Looking to fill by the Fall of 2026. Contract Position
