Each year the Boys & Girls Club helps thousands of local kids and teens build great futures. From first grade to graduation, we are with them every step of the way. We go above and beyond to meet the essential needs of the members we are privileged to serve, provide fun and supportive place and create pathways toward college, career, and a better life. We operate 7 Clubhouses and Teen Centers in addition to a Health & Dental Services Center, T3: Training Teens for Tomorrow workforce development program, community athletic leagues, and outreach programs to schools and communities. Currently, we serve over 9,756 youth, many of whom are from economically disadvantaged homes, qualify for free or reduced lunch, and live in single-parent households. JOB SUMMARY
Directs and manages overall daily operations of a chartered branch under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility, develop and manage a budget, actively engage and support a Parent Advisory Council (PAC), community relations, volunteers, and membership administration.
Branch Director I:
typically manages 3 to 10 FTE (direct and indirect) and a budget of up to $200,000.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Establish Unit or Branch programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates implementation of Designing for Impact (DFI) framework and achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained. Strategic Planning Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Unit or Branch overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation. Resource Management Manage Unit or Branch financial resources assisting in the development of annual budgets. Control expenditures against budget. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups. Ensure compliance with organization policies. Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for branch staff and volunteers. Conduct regular staff meetings. Partnership Development Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations. Marketing and Public Relations Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community. Additional Responsibilities Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment. Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments. Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan. Participate in at least one organizational improvement committee. In any position with the Boys & Girls Club, it is impossible to predict the many requests and assignments that may be made on an employee. This is the case with this position. Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial characteristics of the individual who holds this position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Successful applicants should possess: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university. Bachelor's (preferred) or actively working towards a degree in a related field.
Note:
additional years of relevant experience may satisfy education requirements. A minimum of two years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people. Solid working knowledge of youth development principles and guidance techniques, including experience working directly with youths. Accounting

Within 90 days of employment. Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record. (training provided) Physical Requirements / Work Environment Must be well groomed and adhere to the required dress code. Must be able to perform tasks of a repetitive nature without diminishing performance. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, squat, twist body, stand for short/long periods of time, kneel, push, pull, have sense of touch, reach, grasp with hands and fingers, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds unassisted, climb stairs, close vision, distance vision, talk, hear, have eye-hand coordination, have mental dexterity, speak, read and work in noisy areas, as these movements are a regular requirement of this position. Must be able to work long periods of time sitting or standing at a desk while using a calculator, computer keyboard and monitor. Ability to speak, hear, and maintain high mental and visual attention at all times. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods and be able to walk moderate distances. Must be able to regularly work and/or drive in outdoor weather conditions. May walk or stand on varied surfaces.
Working Conditions:
Must work and interact with co-workers and public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with the Boys & Girls Club Mission Statement. Will work with people of diverse backgrounds and in diverse circumstances. Works with limited supervision individually and in a team setting with other professionals. This position may have frequent phone and in person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry, hostile, confused or frustrated. This position requires the mental aptitude to organize projects, set priorities, calculate, catalogue, inspect, analyze plans, comprehend, and cooperate with others. Therefore, the employee must be able to comprehend assignments and/or ask for additional information or clarification until the assignment is understood. The employee will work on several projects at once with interruptions and noise from ringing telephones, walk-in traffic, multiple deadlines, and competing/changing priorities. Will be exposed to a range of temperatures and elements inside and outside of buildings; heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, humidity, dust.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for the Boys & Girls Club's work, be willing to work weekends and evenings during Club events as required by the job. Must have a valid Oregon driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must successfully pass BGCA driving test requirements. Ability to pass a drug screening test. Candidates chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal background check. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude employment.
