We pride ourselves on helping all of our clients to achieve more self-sufficient lives. Since 1957, we've assisted a wide array of populations throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, focusing on those generally underserved by traditional services including senior citizens, veterans, individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, individuals on the autism spectrum, and youths who have aged out of foster care.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Property Manager will assist in building operations and serve as the backup to the Property Manager. This person will act as a point of contact for tenants, coordinate maintenance, and ensure smooth property operations. This role often involves a mix of administrative, customer service, and sales responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Take the lead on marketing vacant units. Build relationships with community organizations to increase leasing opportunities. Assist applicants in completing applications as necessary. Take the lead in all communication and follow up with MHA regarding rents, recertification, and lease issues. Direct residents to community support options. Cover the front desk on occasion. Help with room inspections. Assist residents with balances and payment plans. Maintain accurate, organized leasing files. Ensure the property is well-maintained and presentable. Help to maintain a positive and welcoming environment for residents.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Prior Section 8 leasing experience helpful. Previous experience in human services preferred. Must have strong computer skills. Yardi experience and experience working at a LIHTC property preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents and team members. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. Physical strength to manipulate light to medium weight materials weighing 10 to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
General office environment. Physical strength to manipulate light to medium weight materials weighing 10 to 15 pounds on a regular basis. Travel between multiple properties required. Reliable transportation required. The Property Manager is expected to be on-call and available to address a range of situations or emergencies when needed.
