A Property Manager manages operations for an apartment building or complex. Recruits and screens tenants for apartments, collects rents and security deposits, responds to requests or complaints from tenants, supervises maintenance and repairs; oversees payment of bills, insurance, taxes and recordkeeping. Manages property and services on behalf of a community association, for properties such as condominiums or cooperatives. Collects fees or dues, responds to requests or complaints, supervises maintenance, oversees work done by contractors, and provides accounting of income and expenses. May also assist owners or a board of directors with regulatory compliance or compliance with community association rules. Manages the operation of commercial or residential properties. Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Job Description

Household Project Manager / Personal Property Manager We are seeking a highly organized, capable, and resourceful individual to help manage projects and ongoing responsibilities involving two private residences. This is not primarily a housekeeping position. We are looking for someone with strong project-management, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills who can take responsibility for getting things accomplished.
Responsibilities may include:
Managing multiple home improvement, maintenance, repair, and landscaping projects Obtaining bids and proposals from contractors and vendors Comparing proposals, checking references, and helping evaluate alternatives Supervising contractors and following projects through to completion Identifying decisions that need to be made and presenting the homeowner with clear recommendations Keeping organized records of projects, contracts, warranties, expenses, and maintenance Scheduling repairs, inspections, deliveries, and service appointments Researching products, services, equipment, and potential vendors Following up persistently to make sure work is completed properly and on schedule Helping anticipate maintenance and other needs at both properties Handling occasional errands or administrative matters related to the homes The ideal candidate: Is exceptionally organized and dependable Has good judgment and common sense Is comfortable taking initiative and solving problems independently Can manage several projects simultaneously Communicates clearly and concisely Is comfortable dealing with contractors, tradespeople, vendors, and service companies Is comfortable using email, spreadsheets, online research, calendars, and basic project-management tools Can research an issue and present the homeowner with two or three sensible alternatives rather than simply bringing back a problem Has project-management, property-management, construction, business, engineering, operations, hospitality, or similar experience or education This could be an excellent position for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, problem solving, and seeing projects through from beginning to end. The position involves work associated with two residences , so some travel between the properties will be required.
Compensation:
Competitive and commensurate with experience. Salary or hourly arrangement can be discussed depending upon the candidate and expected schedule.
