%20COMMUNITY%20CENTER%20ASSISTANT%20MANAGER%20%20-%20FULLTIME Manages center programs, events, and activities: plans and coordinates event schedules; purchases and prepares materials and supplies; recruits and trains volunteer; leads set up and break down for activities; takes attendance; and performs other duties to implement programs, events, and activities.
Supervises regular and temporary staff:
plans, coordinates, assigns and reviews work of individuals and the team; evaluates training needs and provides instruction; schedules staff vacations and approves sick leave; recommends discipline, disciplinary actions, discharge and salary increases; approves timesheets; interviews candidates; conducts employee performance evaluations; and establishes and promotes employee morale. Organizes, prioritizes and assigns work: creates and distributes employee work schedules ensuring adequate coverage and control; ensures subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex or problem situations and provide technical expertise; trains and instructs employees regarding operational procedures and proper use of equipment; assists with revising procedure manuals as appropriate; and provides progress and activity reports to Manager, Community Center. Assists in the maintenance and safety of the center: conducts monitoring and safety checks and inspections of facilities and vehicles; prepares and submits work orders for repairs; performs housekeeping and janitorial duties; and ensures compliance with local, state and federal policies, procedures, rules, regulations, codes and laws. Assists with administrative and financial operations: makes recommendations regarding budget outlays for staffing, equipment, materials and capital improvements; receives, processes, and documents program fees and payments; prepares cash journals and bank deposits; schedules use of the center; purchases materials and supplies; processes and submits check requests, refund requests, and invoices; monitors revenues and expenditures against approved budget; prepares, reviews and submits financial, attendance and maintenance reports; and reviews and makes recommendations regarding updates and changes to administrative and financial policies and procedures. Coordinates and performs public relations for assigned community center: provides information and answers questions; prepares, updates, publishes and distributes brochures, flyers, newsletters, calendars, and website information; promotes the activities and programs to civic groups, community organization, schools, the public or other individuals and groups; and prepares and and makes presentations regarding services and activities offered. Performs general customer service and clerical duties as required: receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints of citizens regarding center programs, policies and/or personnel; assists customers; answers the telephone and greets visitors; prepares reports and correspondence; maintains documentation; enters computer data, etc. Must have evening and weekend availability. Associate degree in Recreation, Human Services, Education, or a related field required; supplemented by one year of experience in customer service, community center operations and programming, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
