Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Executive Director to lead the daily operations of a dedicated Memory Care community. This individual will be responsible for providing strong operational leadership while creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The Executive Director will oversee community operations, team leadership, resident and family satisfaction, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and overall community success. The ideal candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who understands the unique needs of individuals living with dementia and is passionate about creating an exceptional resident experience. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop a strong community leadership team. Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, respect, and professional development. Recruit, train, and retain qualified team members. Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and performance management. Lead by example and maintain a visible presence throughout the community. Promote strong communication and collaboration between departments. Ensure team members understand and consistently follow community policies and procedures. Memory Care & Resident Experience Ensure residents receive compassionate, person-centered care and services. Promote an environment that supports dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life. Ensure programming and daily activities are appropriate for residents living with dementia. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Respond promptly and professionally to resident and family concerns. Monitor resident satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the overall experience. Partner with clinical leadership to address changes in resident needs and ensure appropriate services are provided. Promote a safe environment specifically designed to support residents with cognitive impairment. Operations & Regulatory Compliance Oversee the day-to-day operations of the community. Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Maintain compliance with licensing requirements, policies, and safety standards. Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Review incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation. Maintain accurate records and ensure required documentation is completed timely. Conduct routine rounds throughout the community to identify operational or safety concerns. Develop and implement strategies to improve community performance. Family & Community Relations Establish and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, referral partners, and community organizations. Serve as a primary point of contact for families regarding community operations and resident experience. Address concerns with professionalism, empathy, and timely follow-through. Represent the community positively within the local market. Participate in community outreach and networking opportunities. Support sales and marketing efforts to strengthen census and community awareness. Build a strong reputation within the surrounding community. Financial & Business Management Manage the community within established financial and operational goals. Develop and manage departmental budgets. Monitor labor, supplies, and operating expenses. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality of care and service. Review financial reports and key performance indicators. Partner with leadership to develop strategies that support occupancy, revenue, and overall financial performance. Demonstrate strong business judgment and accountability.
