The Director is responsible for ensuring that peer services are recovery-oriented, person-centered, trauma-informed, ethical, compliant, and fully integrated across Thrive's continuum of care. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Director works collaboratively with clinical leadership to ensure peer services complement treatment and recovery support programming while maintaining the distinct role, values, and boundaries of peer support. The Director also works in close collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer regarding Thrive's recovery housing programs. The Director serves as a leader, coach, advocate, and subject matter resource for peer recovery services throughout the organization and promotes the appropriate utilization and continued development of the peer workforce. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Peer Services Leadership Provide strategic and operational leadership for Thrive's peer recovery support services across programs and service locations. Develop, implement, monitor, and continually improve peer support programming consistent with Thrive's mission, policies, contractual requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable state and federal requirements. Ensure peer services remain recovery-oriented, person-centered, voluntary, relationship-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Promote peer services as an integral component of Thrive's continuum of care while preserving the unique non-clinical role of peer professionals. Advocate for appropriate utilization of peer support services throughout the organization. Participate in program planning, implementation, evaluation, and expansion of recovery-oriented services. Identify opportunities to strengthen Thrive's peer service model based upon emerging best practices, community needs, client feedback, program outcomes, and organizational priorities. Staff Supervision and Development Provide direct supervision to assigned peer support staff and peer supervisory personnel. Conduct regular individual and group supervision in accordance with organizational expectations and applicable certification requirements. Provide coaching and professional development related to peer competencies, engagement, motivational techniques, documentation, ethics, professional boundaries, trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, community resources, and system navigation. Support staff in maintaining healthy professional boundaries and appropriate occupational self-care without assuming the role of therapist, diagnostician, sponsor, or personal recovery advisor. Evaluate peer staff performance and competency and develop performance improvement or professional development plans when indicated. Promote an environment in which employees may safely give and receive feedback, engage in self-reflection, and pursue continued professional growth. Support staff in obtaining and maintaining applicable Florida Certification Board peer credentials and required continuing education. Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, scheduling, retention, and performance management of peer staff. Ensure adequate peer staffing coverage based upon program and organizational needs. Quality, Compliance, and Documentation Ensure peer staff comply with Thrive policies and procedures, documentation standards, confidentiality requirements, ethical standards, payer requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable laws and regulations. Monitor peer documentation for timeliness, quality, completeness, appropriateness, and consistency with the peer role. Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer, compliance staff, and other leadership to address documentation, service delivery, risk management, and quality concerns. Participate in internal audits, accreditation activities, monitoring visits, licensing reviews, corrective action activities, and quality improvement initiatives as applicable. Maintain knowledge of standards and expectations applicable to peer recovery support services, including Florida Certification Board requirements and relevant DCF, CARF, contractual, and funding requirements. Promote protection of client rights, confidentiality, privacy, dignity, autonomy, and informed choice. Assist in development and revision of peer-related policies, procedures, workflows, training materials, and program standards. Monitor program data and outcomes and use findings to improve service accessibility, effectiveness, quality, and client experience. Recovery Housing Collaboration Work collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer regarding recovery housing programming, resident support, peer staffing, and the integration of housing services with Thrive's clinical and recovery support continuum. Provide leadership and supervision to peer personnel assigned to recovery housing programs. Support implementation of recovery-oriented practices within Thrive's residences. Assist in ensuring peer and resident-support practices within Thrive housing are consistent with organizational policies, resident rights, ethical standards, and applicable

expectations. Client and Community Services Serve as a resource to peer staff regarding complex client engagement, system navigation, recovery resources, and community referrals. Ensure peer staff maintain current knowledge of local recovery resources and community supports. Promote development and maintenance of productive relationships with community partners, treatment providers, hospitals, criminal justice partners, social service organizations, recovery organizations, and other systems serving Thrive clients. Assist peer staff in understanding appropriate professional communication, procedures, and legal and ethical obligations when working across behavioral health, healthcare, criminal justice, child welfare, and other community systems. Represent Thrive at community meetings, coalitions, committees, trainings, and collaborative initiatives as assigned. Promote reduction of stigma and the value of lived experience within Thrive and throughout the community. Leadership Responsibilities The Director of Peer Services is expected to: Model Thrive's mission, values, professional standards, and commitment to recovery. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, empathy, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Demonstrate sound judgment when responding to sensitive, urgent, or complex situations. Communicate effectively across clinical, operational, administrative, and community settings. Identify problems, develop solutions, and appropriately escalate issues requiring executive-level involvement. Work collaboratively with members of the Executive and Leadership Teams. Participate in organizational planning, staff development, quality improvement, emergency preparedness, and other leadership functions as assigned. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while recognizing the unique value of lived experience within peer services. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough understanding of recovery-oriented systems of care and peer recovery support principles. Strong knowledge of the appropriate role, scope, ethics, and professional boundaries of peer support professionals. Knowledge of substance use disorders, behavioral health systems, recovery pathways, community resources, and barriers experienced by individuals seeking recovery. Ability to supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate peer professionals using a strengths-based and person-centered approach. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive service delivery. Knowledge of confidentiality, client rights, documentation, ethics, and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to behavioral health and recovery support services. Ability to effectively collaborate with clinical professionals while maintaining the distinct non-clinical nature of peer services. Ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, employees, and deadlines. Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop productive relationships with community partners and outside agencies. Ability to use electronic health records, documentation systems, Microsoft Office, and other standard business technology. Ability to analyze program performance and identify opportunities for quality improvement. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in behavioral health, social services, human services, nonprofit leadership, business administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education. Current Florida peer recovery certification appropriate to the services provided by Thrive required or ability to obtain/maintain certification within an established timeframe as approved by Thrive. Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in peer recovery support, behavioral health, substance use recovery, recovery housing, or a closely related field preferred. Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred. Experience supervising peer professionals strongly preferred. Experience working collaboratively with clinical professionals and multidisciplinary teams preferred. Licensure and Certification Maintain all certifications and continuing education required for the position. Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle in connection with job responsibilities. Must meet all applicable background screening and organizational eligibility requirements. Work Environment and Schedule Work is performed in Thrive offices, community settings, partner locations, and Thrive recovery residences. The position requires regular interaction with clients, residents, staff, community partners, and organizational leadership. The Director may occasionally be required to work evenings, weekends, extended hours, or respond to urgent program or housing-related situations based upon organizational needs. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Sitting or standing for extended periods. Walking throughout office, community, and residential environments, including stairs. Bending, reaching, crouching, or kneeling as reasonably required. Driving to Thrive locations, residences, community programs, meetings, or partner organizations. Lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance available when appropriate.
