Duties Assist clients in identifying suitable housing options by leveraging property management tools and housing databases, including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and Section 8 programs. Conduct client assessments to determine eligibility for various housing assistance programs and develop personalized housing plans. Advocate on behalf of clients during landlord negotiations, lease signing, and property management interactions to ensure fair treatment under Fair Housing regulations. Provide crisis intervention and support for high-risk populations, including individuals with mental health conditions or substance use challenges. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward achieving their housing goals and maintaining stability. Collaborate with social services agencies, mental health providers, addiction counselors, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive support services. Maintain detailed case management records using Microsoft Office tools and property management software to track client progress and program compliance. Educate clients about their rights under Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and landlord-tenant law. Support clients through crisis management situations, ensuring safety and access to necessary resources. Facilitate workshops or informational sessions on housing options, tenant rights, and available community resources. Qualifications Proven experience in social work, case management, or housing services within underserved communities. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, HUD regulations, and LIHTC programs. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build trust with diverse populations. Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention strategies. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or high-risk populations is highly preferred. Familiarity with property management tools and software used in housing assistance programs. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities while demonstrating sensitivity and cultural competence. Knowledge of addiction counseling principles and working with individuals with mental health conditions is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting purposes. Motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously. Valid driver's license preferred but not required; willingness to travel within the community as needed.
