About Us Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization and Baltimore City's only comprehensive crisis response system. Since 1992, BCRI has been dedicated to providing compassionate, community-based behavioral health crisis services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Our work is rooted in service, integrity, and equity. Our Human Resources team plays a vital role in supporting the workforce that makes our mission possible. The Opportunity The Executive Intern role offers a valuable opportunity for emerging professionals to gain hands-on experience supporting senior leadership within a mission-driven organization. In this role, you will contribute to strategic projects, assist with research and administrative tasks, and gain exposure to cross-functional operations and executive decision-making. This internship is ideal for candidates interested in public administration, business, behavioral health, or nonprofit leadership who are looking to apply their academic knowledge while building real-world experience. What You'll Do Support executive leadership with strategic projects, research, and administrative tasks. Assist with meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up. Participate in cross‑departmental initiatives as assigned by Johnathan or leadership designees. Conduct data collection or analysis to support decision‑making. Attend relevant internal meetings (when appropriate) to observe processes and gain exposure. Internship duties may be tailored to meet academic program requirements. Qualifications What You'll Learn Students participating in the Executive Internship will: How executive leadership approaches planning, strategy, and decision-making Professional workplace expectations in a high-level organizational setting How different departments collaborate to achieve organizational goals How to translate information into clear, actionable insights for leadership Exposure to real-world challenges in nonprofit and behavioral health environments Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced professional setting How to navigate confidential and sensitive information appropriately Career readiness skills for leadership, public service, and administrative roles Qualifications Must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program Preferred fields of study include Public Administration, Business, Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or related disciplines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism Demonstrated interest in behavioral health, crisis response, nonprofit work, or organizational leadership Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Professional demeanor with a willingness to learn and take initiative Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment • Why Join BCRI Hands-on HR experience in a nonprofit healthcare setting Academic credit or practicum eligibility Professional mentorship and skill development Opportunity to support a mission-driven organization serving the Baltimore community
