Purpose:

The Housing Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Washington County's Emergency Housing Services Building in Stillwater, MN. This includes managing Shelter Advocates (SAs), ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining resident and staff engagement, and fostering adherence to SSEH's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

Program Operations:

Conduct and oversee room checks to ensure safety and policy adherence. Manage and assist with resident intake processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation. Coordinate all shelter activities, ensuring effective collaboration with the Washington County shelter team for daily operations and service delivery. Maintain effective communication with all SAs, providing updates on policies and ensuring team alignment with SSEH's mission.

Staff Management:

Supervise and train SAs, ensuring they are equipped to handle daily responsibilities and resident interactions. Oversee the SA work schedule, time-off requests, and shift coverage to ensure adequate staffing at all times. Fill open shifts as needed. Monitor attendance and performance, providing feedback and additional training when necessary. Assist in hiring, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new SAs.

Resident Support and Collaboration:

Communicate resident concerns and program updates to the Program Director. Collaborate with Case Managers to address resident needs and support transitions. Lead team huddles to ensure alignment on goals and strategies.

Leadership and General Duties:

Model professionalism and inclusivity to foster a positive team environment. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and leadership sessions. Adhere to SSEH policies and confidentiality standards. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Director.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a social services or human resources related field or equivalent experience. 2-3 years of leadership and supervision experience. Experience working in a social service setting (one year at least). Experience working in human resources (one year at least). Excellent documentation and communication skills. Ability to establish rapport with SSEH residents. Ability to motivate others towards achieving goals. Ability to work independently with a strong sense of focus, task orientated, non-judgmental, and a clear sense of boundaries. Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse people and communities, being culturally sensitive and appropriate. Proficient in the use of computers, Teams, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Must pass background study, per MN Department of Human Services guidelines.
